Bonjour! My name is Madame Stratton, and I am a seasoned veteran with over 30 years of experience teaching French grades 6-12. I am very excited to share my love of the French language and culture with the 6th-grade students here at WIS! WIS students will have the opportunity to learn French once every 5 school days, either during the first or second semester. When students are not in French, they will meet with Señor Lee for Spanish.
Our French classes will be very interactive as we use songs, games, simple conversations, and activities to make the language fun and easy to learn! Our lessons focus on basic greetings and introductions, asking someone how they are doing and responding, the French alphabet, numbers 1-30, colors, animals, basic classroom items and supplies, and simple prepositions of location. I also like to start off each lesson with a French music video from various French artists so that students can get a sampling of the culture. Get ready for a new learning experience that is very different from anything you have ever done before! If you have any questions about the Exploratory French program at WIS, please feel free to email me at mstratton@wadsworthschools.org.Bienvenue!
